On July 7, 2026, in Paris, the Digital Energy program of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), funded by the European Union and in partnership with Onepoint, is organizing an AI hackathon for its selected beneficiaries.

A full-day event to explore the potential of generative and agentic AI alongside Onepoint’s AI experts, starting from concrete business challenges.

4 selected participants taking on the challenge

As part of this initiative, four startups from the Digital Energy and I&P challenge have been selected to take part in this immersive day.

Each of them will work on a use case directly linked to their operational challenges:

  • Fuel Switch (South Africa)
Automate quality control of metering data across hundreds of sites and generate compliant verification reports in under 24 hours
  • My Joule Box (France)
Centralize mini-grid incidents in a single database, improve O&M guidelines for field teams, and simplify reporting
  • ICE Solar (Nigeria)
Automate customer support through a conversational agent dedicated to distributed solar services
  • Roseau Technologies (France)
Generate power grid evolution scenarios from a simple description and instantly explore impacts using natural language

A framework designed to accelerate participants’ projects

Designed as a concrete support lever, this hackathon enables the Digital Energy program to offer its participants:

  • Dedicated time to structure a high-potential AI use case
  • Hands-on work closely aligned with real business challenges
  • Guidance from Onepoint’s AI experts
  • The opportunity to quickly prototype a solution (proof of concept)

Throughout the day, teams will:

  • Clarify their business challenge
  • Identify generative and agentic AI use cases
  • Test their feasibility
  • Develop an initial prototype
  • Structure their approach and prepare their pitch

Support to go further

At the end of the hackathon, one of the four teams will be selected to benefit from dedicated support to accelerate the development of its AI solution:

  • Technical roadmap definition: identification of next steps
  • Expert coaching: ongoing support from AI specialists
  • Prototype consolidation: strengthening and validating the solution
  • Scale-up perspectives: support for scaling up
