The Digital Energy Challenge supports the development of digital, innovative solutions for increased energy access, the integration of renewable energy and utility performance improvement in Africa.
The 2026 Call for Projects, open until 17th June 2026, supports projects based in Africa and led by innovative SMEs (see detailed criteria).
A live information webinar offers potential applicants and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to learn more about the scope and themes of the 2026 call for projects, familiarize themselves with the submission process and ask any questions to the organisers.
The webinar will last approximately 1.5 hours, with a moment dedicated to a Q&A session and will be recorded.

The webinar will be hosted by the Digital Energy Challenge organisers, comprising experts from AFD’s Digital Energy, and external partners involved in the Challenge’s implementation: Blunomy, an energy-transition focused consultancy and AETS, a consulting firm specialising in the implementation of public policies and development cooperation.
