This document, resulting from a workshop held in July 2021, aims to provide an analysis of the risks associated with three off-grid business models, along with mitigation suggestions for each. It targets project developers seeking to anticipate challenges in constructing their business model, as well as funders wishing to deepen their understanding of different models to better tailor their financing tools.
The three examined technologies (Solar Home System, Service Platform, Mini-grid) undergo specific risk analyses, followed by proposed actions for risk mitigation. Although the C&I technology wasn't detailed, the risks outlined for service platforms can also apply.
Energy access presents challenges for local communities, yet they play a crucial role in local energy planning. To address this, four main challenges are identified, offering avenues for work for NGOs, local authorities, and French companies eager to engage in this field.
